Website Architecture
Architects know providing a strong foundation is the beginning of any project. Website development should be perceived the same way.
IT Niche has the expertise to understand and analyze the specific foundational needs for your website. Having a solid foundation under your building is critical. Your website is no different. IT Niche builds websites from the ground up, keeping in mind many factors like scalability, multi-functional support and integration with your in-house or third party applications.
Basic web architecture is two-tiered combining browsers (Internet Explorer from Microsoft, Fire Fox, Safari, etc.) with web servers that transfer information to the user or browser. This architecture depends on three key standards:
1. HTML for encoding document content
2. URLs for naming remote information objects in global space
3. HTTP for staging the transfer
This basic web architecture has been the core engine for fueling the internet information age. It served its purpose in its time and age providing massive transfer of information from point A to point B. However, the needs of users continued to evolve driving the need for greater capabilities and tasks to be accomplished online such as e-commerce, payment gateways and streaming video content in different formats.
Basic web architecture is rapidly evolving to serve a wider variety of needs beyond static document access and browsing. Common Gateway Interface (CGI) extends the architecture to three-tiers by adding a back-end server that provides services to the web server on behalf of the web client. This permits dynamic composition of web pages with what is defined as helpers/plug-ins and Java/JavaScript or other scripting languages which provide other web architecture extensions.
Creating an effective architectural framework which suits your needs and is capable of sustaining future needs is crucial in achieving online success.
